Channing came up to Yukon to see me last week. She is a cutie! I have been lucky enough to photograph her and her little brother Traber since they were both babies! I met her and her mother early morning and we made our way to the location. By "we made our way to the location" I mean we took a bit of time to get there. Why? Well, because though I had been there 50+ times, I decided to take a shortcut. The kind of shortcut that takes you the wrong way and you have to re-find yourself!! Luckily Kristin is such a good sport and just laughed at me.
Once we finally arrived at the location, we set the scene and got to shooting. We battled a little wind, but used it to our advantage. Now, by battling the wind, I am saying it was a serious battle. I opened the reflector and immediately the wind whipped around and "reflector slapped" Channing. Luckily she's a trooper and kind of just looked at me like "why did you do that?" rather than getting mad and crying. I was so glad! I think the wind ended up playing a good roll in this shot and it turned out terrific!
After a quick change of location and a little clothing change, we settled in on outfit 2. She read Brown Bear, Brown Bear and fed her baby. Nothing attacked her here like my reflector, but soon she started getting a little over the whole 2 year pictures thing. Momma picked her up and I got a couple more shots that are just fantastic!

Valentines Special (oklahoma photographer)
Sooooooooo, (that's a drawn out, sort of questioning 'so')
I haven't tried this before. Directing potential clients to my blog for advertisement of a special. Since I am probably top 5 worse bloggers I thought this may create traffic and in turn make me be more involved with my blog! So here it goes!
I had a couple of emails wondering if I would be doing a Valentine special:
"hey anthony, are you going to do a Valentine
special this year? Me and my bf are
wanting some fun pictures. let me know! (:"
"anthony, i was wanting to get some cute shots
of my daughter for Valentines. Have any
specials going on?"
See! questions about a Valentine special. [that is me being funny and sarcastic] any way!, I think that both ideas would work well! So, with that being said, I think we should do something "special" for Valentine's Day!
I am going to do 2 options:
Option 1:
Girlfriend/Boyfriend - Husband/Wife
Couples come in and get a 20 min session. Session may be indoor or outdoor. This does not have to be something that is formal. Its a fun cheap session so dress up and be yourselves. Thunder gear, Sooner, Cowboys or whatever. Each session will include 2- 5x7's and have an online gallery posted for 2 weeks. All orders will be given a 25% discount! Session Fee $40 (due upon booking to hold date and time)
Option 2:
KIDS!!
I will be having a Valentine's kids background. I have a few ideas via Pinterest. (i know that has caught your attention ladies) Kids session is $10. Session is due at booking. Each child session will come with a 5x7 included! This session is to do something FUN! not to just squeeze in your childs 3 year photos. The session will be directed towards journalistic images as well as my normal portrait style. Bring props!! I will have some Rose petals and flowers for the kids. But think this is fun, not fancy and blah. so props ideas would be, Chocolate covered hearts, little sweet tarts, teddy bears, just Valentine cheesy. ya, Valentine cheesy, that is exactly what I am going for here!
Ok, so get with me and let me know if you are interested. Photo dates will be January 30 and 31. With only having 2 days, the sessions will fill up quick. So get with me and get the time YOU want not the session that I have left.
Here's how!

Amy - Cheyenne Senior 2011 {oklahoma senior photographer}

What is up?! 2 blog posts in a week, THATS whats up!! :)
Amy came in for her senior portraits last week and I thought they deserved a blog of their own. I had a good time shooting her and had some good laughs along the way!

Amy is going to UCO to get her degree in Secondary Special Education. I think that is amazing! I believe it takes a special person to take on this roll in life and for a young woman to know its her calling is, well, pretty damn cool!

Amy has a wonderful smile and a great personality. I wish her all the luck in the future!

funny how i ended with "she has a great smile" and the last photo she isn't smiling? I am an idiot.
SO.... now that, that is said and done. I am going to give a little info about the Senior 2012 season!! Butler Photography will be giving away..... FREE iPAD(s) !!! yes! that is correct. All you have to do is get 10 referrals... 10! that isn't too bad. Once you get your 10 referrals into the studio, they book and come in for their session. YOU get a free ipad along with your senior photos loaded onto it! Is this awesome?___ yes ___ heck yes! Sorry, no option for no!
Get with me for details and be on the look out here and on the Butler Photography Facebook and Website!!!

Dear Blog.... I am sorry {oklahoma photographer}
Hey Blog, what's up? It's been a while. Your looking good as ever! I am sorry for neglecting you. I will try and be better, it's just I've been busy... it's not you, it's me..... Forgive me???
So, I noticed it has been yet again a LONG break in blog posts. Sorry, trying to keep up with all the different avenues of public relations is tough!! I recently started following Holly Baumann and she posts a lot of blogs. Most of which are interesting, to me anyway. Her latest post talked about the importance of blogging. So I am going to "try" and improve this outlet of social media! Lucky you!! bc i am so clever and humorous and awesome and amazing and entertaining, that it will allow your to be overwhelmed with greatness more often!! (thats as cocky as i could get, i hope it worked)
So, it has went from hot, to cold and now is entering BACK to hot since my last post. Things have changed a lot! I have recently gotten engaged to my high school sweetheart, Chasta. I am fixing to move my studio , hopefully for the last time, back to downtown Weatherford; in an awesome old building. I have moved my living quarters to Mustang, Ok. Where I am starting to book sessions in and around that area!! SUPER PUMPED My children have gone from 3 and 5 to 4 and 6 aaaaaand that is just about it.
Ok, now we are caught back up and going along, just like I never missed a beat. Just like you have been reading the blogs all along! ::kinda::......... NOW, lets get to what you come here for PHOTOS!
First up is, Noah. Noah had a lot of energy and was a lot of fun. I chose this image from his session because his eyes are just piercing!

Now, I couldn't possibly go through and load images of every session I have shot since August! That would be ridiculous and well, time consuming beyond measure!! So, these are just a couple from recently...
The next little whipper snipper is, Kaiser. Kaiser is Boone and Megan Price's first baby!! Boone is an avid Thunder fan, so that instantly means he will be an awesome father. Okay, maybe not, but it does help... promise :) Kaiser is a beautiful little girl and I can not wait to photograph her as she gets older!

The lovely lady below, is Holland. Pam, her mother, brings in props for her session and it always adds such an impact to the session! I recommend anyone thinking about getting portraits made to THINK ABOUT THE SESSION and what YOU want. This makes it more personal, which in turn makes the entire session better!! This image I knew was going to be killer, once I fired the shutter!!

Next up.... Ava Tourian. Now this 1 year old has more hair than any child I have EVER shot at 1 year! BUT it isn't the hair that catches everyones attention... or shouldn't be! Look at how pretty she is! Ava, is the daughter of Rouben and Alex Tourian. I was super excited to shoot her the first time and was so glad they brought her in for her 1 year photos. Hope to see her grow up in front of the lens through the years!

Wow, I have been blogging for 20 minutes! not so bad.
Ok, another Ava.... her mom has signed up for photos every month for her first year! awesome idea. This image is really cool and would look amazing in her room, gallery wrap at 24x55!! She is super cute and we are going to do something fantastic with her photos and the end of the year!

Last, but not least....... Miss Kate! She is a precious little girl! Her sister Madi and brother Jaxon have been coming in for quite some time! They are so fun to shoot!! It took Madi a while to warm up to the photoshoot experience... but Jaxon has been hamming it up since day 1! I think Kate just may end up being most photogenic of the 3. Just a hunch.

Whew!!! Blog is done! NOW, all you need to do is become a follower of my blog, or a follower of me on Twitter or become a fan of the Butler Photography facebook page! I mean, seriously, there is no way you shouldn't or couldn't know what is going on with Butler Photography!
Oh!!! one last thing... I have actually got the website looking pretty good! with prices, ideas, contact information and galleries! so check it out! also on your mobile device!!

FREE SESSION week recap!! (oklahoma photographer)
Every once in a while I put out a FREE SESSION week on the Butler Photography Facebook page and the NEW TWITTER Page as well!! This is your chance to come in and get portraits taken of your little whipper snappers for FREE!! That way if you do not like them, your not out a dime, but if, well WHEN you do, you can have a little extra cash to buy your portraits!
We start this blog off with Ryan. Ryan has been coming to see me for as long as I can remember! We always have a good time shooting! Last year before his session he broke his arm and I was the first to get to sign his cast! This year he fell down and got a scrape on his elbow. He told me, "I wish i could get a bigger scratch so I could have a scar." HAHAHA!!

Now we have Tucker. When Tucker first started coming in, I believe his one year or 18mo portraits, he hated me. He hated pictures and he didn't want anything but Smarties candy!! Tucker is now 6 years old and HE ASKED his mom and dad "can we go see Anthony and get my pictures taken?" WOW, every session has got better over the last 5 or so years, but I am pretty sure no 6 year old boys have ever asked to get there pictures made! Tucker has a girlfriend and we talked about her most the session. That and Toy Story 3. I love when the kids come in often enough for us to build a relationship!

This little guy is Isaac. I photograph his sister Ella and was lucky enough to get to capture his 3 month photos for his family as well!! Ella is an awesome sister and was a lot of help during the session! Its hard to beat a good black and white image of a naked baby! and look at those eyes!!

Now we have Reece. Another child that I have been lucky enough to photograph their older sibling. Reece was very cooperative and I believe enjoyed being the center of attention. Eventhough, NOT as much as she enjoyed trying to eat the pearl necklace we were trying to get her to shoot with!! Shooting the feet of a child has become common, but I really like the shot of her foot in the air. The composition is great and its just an image that really caught my eye in her proof set!

This young man is Lachlan. Lachlan comes in every year and every year we get awesome images! I posted on my Facebook page that I believe it is impossible to not get good images with him! Next time I just may try, to see if it is possible!! Just kidding Mikki. Lachlan is lots of fun and has a great attitude! He is so laid back and just is a joy to be around! Thanks Mikki for bringing him in! Also, Mikki is the best at using her referral cards! She, as well as her husband Brady, show off their images and send me the newbies! Which in turn, racks up the FREE MONEY for Mikki and Brady to spend on photos! This photo of him at the volleyball court is so awesome! Once I fired the shutter and saw this image on the camera, I knew it would be one of my faves!!

And finally, we have the Coker family. Desiree is expecting a new addition to the family at any moment!! I had a great time shooting them and playing with Beckham. He believes he is Wolverine and is afraid of the police. So we have a lot in common!! I can always tell during a family session within about 5 min how the session will turn out. I knew these would be fantastic!! Everyone was having a good time!! I love capturing moments in a session that are not posed and made to happen. They were playing and just being a family, I took the photos, did little instructing and I believe they turned out wonderful!! I can't wait to meet the new guy! Thanks for coming in!

So if you are a follower of the blog or a first time visitor thanks for stopping by!! I am trying to keep up with this a little better!! I will not promise anything, but WILL TRY to have a blog a week! Click these links become a liker of Butler Photography on Facebook and a follower of @photobybutler on Twitter!! DO IT! DO IT NOW!! Don't make me come tickle you..... Ok I went into child photographer mode there... MY BAD!
until next time.... "may the force be with you"

"Thiiiis is how we doooooo iiiit" -montell jordan

How did you like the title of this blog?! It was the most appropriate way of explaining exactly HOW WE DO IT. "thiiis is how we dooo iiiit" hahaWOW, what a week! I had some great sessions!! Engagement, Families, Children and a Couple. I had a great time photographing them all!
In order of the photos: Aubrey came in and used her referral card from her sister in law and received a free session! This is one good looking couple! and very easy to photograph! Then we had the Henley kids, Jersey and Jaygen. I have photographed them I believe their entire life, and these images turned out great! The kids were so willing to participate and mom and dad just let me do whatever I wanted! Which is awesome! Jerseys eyes and smile will destroy some boys hearts one day and Jaygen is as sweet as he is ornery! I could of posted 15 images from this session, but did well only allowing 4! Then we have the soon to be Terry family, Doug and Lynnette. I will be photographing there wedding in September and looking forward to it! I love when shooting an engagement and you can tell that the two people really love each other! They had fun laughing and playing with one another and you could feel that they are truly in love!
thanks for stopping by the blog and remember to become a fan on the Butler Photography facebook page!!
until next time!

Brooke came into the studio not knowing if she wanted to be here or not! BUT she left with many, many great images! I couldn't leave this one out. Look at that tear about to come....

Tuckers family. They come in a see me ever so often and there a lot of fun to shoot. Dad couldn't wait to get done and head to the monster truck rally! haha
so there is a few shots from last week... more to come NEXT week and leave these guys some love. Please do not make them think there families and children are ugly! haha!!
